Black Cumin Seeds provide many wonderful health benefits

by Tony Isaacs

(NaturalNews) The prophet Mohammad reportedly said that seeds of the black cumin plant could cure anything but death itself. While that may seem to be quite the tall order, black cumin (Nigella sativa) does in fact have remarkable healing and health properties that make it one of the most powerful medicinal plants known to man.

Black cumin is a part of the buttercup family and the seeds are dark, thin, and crescent-shaped when whole. The seeds have been used for many centuries in the Middle East, the Mediterranean and India. Today, black cumin seeds are used as a seasoning spice in different cuisines across the world due to their nutty flavor. Besides their culinary uses, black cumin seeds also have a wealth of important health benefits and are one of the most cherished medicinal seeds in history.

The seeds of the black cumin plant contain over 100 chemical compounds, including some yet to be identified. In addition to what is believed to be the primary active ingredient, crystalline nigellone, black cumin seeds contain: thymoquinone, beta sitosterol, myristic acid, palmitic acid, palmitoleic acid, stearic acid, oleic acid, linoleic acid, linolenic acid, arachidonic acid, protein, vitamin B1, vitamin B2, vitamin B3, folic acid, calcium, iron, copper, zinc, and phosphorous.

Black cumin seeds have a particularly long and strong history use in Egypt. When archaeologists found and examined the tomb of Egyptian boy-king Tutankhamen (King Tut), they found a bottle of black cumin oil, which suggested that it was believed to be needed in the afterlife.

Physicians to the Egyptian pharaohs frequently used the seeds after extravagant feasts to calm upset stomachs. They also used the seeds to treat headaches, toothaches, colds, and infections. Queen Nefertiti, renowned for her stunning beauty, used black seed oil, likely due to its abilities to strengthen and bring luster to hair and nails.

Hundreds of studies have been conducted on black cumin which have shown that compounds from the seeds help fight diseases by boosting the production of bone marrow, natural interferon, and immune cells.

Several of the studies have shown that black cumin seed extract could assist individuals with autoimmune disorders and could possibly help to fight cancer. One recent study on black cumin seed oil demonstrated that it was effective against pancreatic cancer, one of the deadliest and most difficult to treat cancers.

See: www.naturalnews.com/023348.html

Black cumin is one of the very few botanicals that have shown such effectiveness (the other most notable one is oleander extract).

One of black cumin’s most popular and effective uses is the treatment of diseases related to the respiratory system: including asthma, bronchitis, rheumatism and cold symptoms. The seeds help increase body tone, stimulate menstrual period, and increase the flow of breast milk in nursing mothers.

Black cumin seed oil helps calm the nervous system, quells colic pain, stimulates urine production, helps treat pertussis, improves digestion and helps prevent and lower high blood pressure.

The seeds are very effective in curing abscesses and tumors of the eye, abdomen and liver, probably due in great part to the anti-tumor compound beta-sitosterol found in the seeds.

Black cumin also:

*stimulates energy and helps in recovery from fatigue and low spirits.
*is an effective cure for skin conditions such as allergies, eczema, acne, psoriasis and boils.
*is anti-parasitic.
*treats flatulence, diarrhea, hemorrhoids, constipation and dysentery.

NOTE: Those who decide to use black cumin seed oil should check labels and product information carefully. Black cumin is commonly referred to as black seed oil, black onion seed, black caraway, black sesame seed, and other names, but only Nigella sativa is true black cumin.

Skin cancer cured!

How I Healed My Mother’s Skin Cancer At Home

coconutbakingsoda

For the last 3 years, my mother had been suffering with a type of skin cancer called Basal Cell Carcinoma. This is the less aggressive form of skin cancer, deemed as non-life threatening by the medical industry, in contrast to the more malignant form of skin cancer known as Melanoma.

The basal cell first began as a small red lesion on the crown of my mother’s head. It would start to bleed, then scab, then bleed again and then scab more.

The scab continued to grow and over the course of 3 years it nearly quadrupled in size. Not only did it grow wider, but it grew higher as well. Unfortunately, it took this long before my mother finally decided to go to the doctor.

She was referred to a Dermatologist by her GP. A biopsy was done and the lesion was confirmed as cancerous. At the initial consultation the Dermatologist said what every doctor says: “There is no cure for Basal Cell Carcinoma, but we can surgically remove it.”
He couldn’t guarantee that it wouldn’t return. Regardless, she scheduled an appointment to have it removed.

Not too long after the surgery, the basal cell returned – this time with a vengeance. It seemed to grow much quicker, and within two weeks after the surgery the bleeding and scabbing was back again. It was extremely frustrating to witness this, and I truly felt powerless over the matter. I made the decision to go to the Dermatologist with my mother on her next visit, and I was prepared to ask him a plethora of questions, my first question being, “What the heck is this thing???”
That is when I learned the medical term for this type of skin cancer.

Taking Matters Into Our Own Hands

Equipped with the term ‘Basal Cell Carcinoma’ and Google, I researched everything I could about it, including natural treatments. I recalled reading some articles about how sodium bicarbonate, or baking soda, has a high success rate with various types of cancers, so I looked into the topical use of baking soda on basal cells. Surprisingly, I found quite a few personal testimonies from people who had healed a basal cell completely, using just baking soda and water.  Cancer cannot thrive in an alkaline environment. And that’s exactly what baking soda produces.

My mother had the basal cell removed surgically twice more before she finally let me try the baking soda treatment. And 5 weeks ago is when this treatment began.

I modified the concoction by using coconut oil instead of water, as raw organic coconut oil helps in the regeneration of skin cells. I mixed one part baking soda and one part coconut oil (a teaspoon of each) in a shot glass and stirred it up until it became a malleable paste, which is what I applied to the affected area. The results were truly astonishing.

Please keep in mind that starting at an early age my mother began to experience hair loss.  However, as a result of less hair it was much easier to apply the treatment, and the effect of the treatment was more visible.

The Method I Used

– Raw organic coconut oil (the brand I used was Artisana)
– Aluminum-free baking soda (I purchased it at a holistic health food store)
– A shot glass, to effectively stir the mixture within
– Something to stir the mixture with, I used the narrow handle of a small metal spoon.
– Polysporin Triple 3 Antibiotics, or any other antibiotic ointment to apply at night

I stirred 1 part baking soda and 1 part coconut oil in a shot glass until it became a malleable paste that was easy to apply. It helped to apply a bit of warmth to melt the coconut oil faster – I let the shot glass run under hot water for a bit.

Using the handle of the spoon that I stirred with, I applied the mixture to the affected area. I DID NOT RUB IT IN. Instead I gently slathered the area with the paste and let it remain there for as long as possible. Then I applied a shower cap to keep the treatment in place.

I aimed for 3 applications a day for the first week, and 2 for the second week moving forward, and made sure to properly clean the affected area before each application.

A basal cell has roots that reach much deeper into the skin than it appears, it is not just on the surface, therefor I learned that it is important to continue using the treatment much longer, even when the skin has fully patched up.

What We All Learned From This Experience

Looking back at the start of this whole experience, I realize that I was just as skeptical as most people with regards to a successful treatment that costs only a few dollars, not to mention one that is sitting in my kitchen pantry! I completely understand why a simple solution like baking soda and coconut oil would be cast aside in favor of a more ‘sophisticated’ treatment.

While I am by no means completely against mainstream or allopathic medicine, it is my opinion that we have been heavily conditioned by the medical industry to believe that we have absolutely no power over our own physical and mental health, and that the solutions and cures to our ailments lie far beyond our reach; that only a large sum of money can buy a cure.
I can’t stress enough that this is simply not true.

Throughout the progress of my mother’s healing, my whole family had experienced first hand how effective an alternative treatment can be. Not only is it effective – it is affordable, safe, and free of side-effects. Needless to say, my family’s opinion on mainstream/allopathic medicine has shifted significantly.

My hope is that people who are going through a similar experience can come to understand the power is in their hands to heal themselves. No one is going to spoon-feed us the truth about how we can heal using simple and affordable methods – especially not the medical industry. We must do our own research and reclaim our healing power.

Blessings, namaste and much love,
Kyneret

zeolite 263x164 Discover an Effective, Easy, and Inexpensive Heavy Metal Detox Agent

If you’ve been tracking alternative health news here on Natural Society or elsewhere long enough, you should be well aware of how ubiquitous heavy metals are in our environment and foods. You should also know that they are toxic, and tend to get trapped in our body tissues. NaturalSociety has already unveiled numerous ways to detox heavy metals from the body, but let’s add another detox agent to the list – zeolite.

Eliminating Heavy Metal Toxins Safely, Effectively, and Cheaply

Mercury, aluminum, and lead all cause neurological damage. We are all exposed to them from medical and dental applications, processed foods, old paint coverings and plumbing, industrial waste pollutants, and even chemtrails. Heavy metal molecules tend to be stubbornly enmeshed in internal tissue matter or remain in the blood because they cannot be metabolized or filtered out easily by the liver and kidneys or eliminated through the skin with perspiration. This situation leads to long term bad health issues, DNA damage, and disease. It is essential to detox these heavy metals out to experience enhanced health.

Any kind of detoxification, even sweating, lifts some burden off of the body’s immune system and encourages internal organ homeostasis (balance) to occur and promote healing. People who are ill get well, and people who are not apparently ill feel younger, stronger, and happier.

Related Read: Sweating Detoxes Heavy Metals

But sweating alone is probably not enough. You may have heard of chelation therapy, which is pricey, a tad risky, and requires a medically trained person to administer. What about detoxing from heavy metals and other toxins at home cheaply? You can try consuming these 6 foods for heavy metal chelation, or you could try utilizing the inexpensive solution below.

Zeolite to the rescue. Unfortunately, zeolite’s reputation may have been tarnished somewhat by pricey multilevel marketing (MLM) companies who claim to have the best  liquid zeolite. I was involved with a couple of them years ago. The thing about liquid zeolites is that they are heavily processed from volcanic mineral rocks with extreme heat and acids. So their detox results are questionable.

Comparative testing has demonstrated the ability to draw out toxic heavy metals known as the CEC (cation exchange capacity) of liquid zeolite comes nowhere near the CEC of pure (safe for human consumption) Clinoptilolite rock mineral zeolites.

Cations are positively charged ions or groups of atoms, such as heavy metals, that are attracted to negatively charged items, such as zeolite particles.

How Zeolite Works

Zeolite particles are negatively charged nano-cages. Each tiny cage has a negative charge to attract positively charged heavy metals out of tissues and blood and into those cages. Then the cages are eliminated through normal bodily functions without endangering other tissue.

While the ingested-with-water zeolite is slowly traveling through the small intestines, the millions of tiny hair-like intestinal villi are coated with the zeolite. The villi are the nutrient absorbing gateways from the intestines to the bloodstream. From there the blood gets purified by zeolite without crossing the blood brain barrier.

The mechanics of this process eliminates the possibility of toxic materials re-entering other organ tissues after being flushed out. It’s truly a chelation process.

Adsorption is the process of electronically attracting and binding rather than absorbing like a sponge. So zeolite adsorbs and chelates heavy metals.

That’s why the easily internalized adsorbing, chelating activity of zeolite is so vital for optimum health in today’s toxic world.

Detoxing Beyond Heavy Metals

In addition to removing toxic heavy metals and other chemicals, zeolite tends to raise overall pH with higher alkalinity. It’s been (arguably) strongly established throughout all medical worlds that low body pH or acidity is the “stagnant water” that attracts pathogens to flourish as well as creating an unusual type of cellular metabolism called cancer.

Zeolite also helps you eliminate radiation poisoning, another increasingly ubiquitous menace throughout the world. The Russians gave zeolite freely to children who were exposed to Chernobyl’s radiation from that reactor’s disastrous meltdown.

Some people are concerned with zeolite’s technical description as a porous crystalline aluminosilicate. However, the aluminum in zeolite is bound with silica. Unbound free aluminum is toxic, but bound within a compound molecular structure it’s harmless. Instead, it removes unbound aluminum toxins from the body.

Also, beneficial minerals such as magnesium are not attracted to zeolites. So one will not have beneficial minerals depleted from the body detoxing with zeolite.

Many individuals who have tried using zeolite in rock powder form have obtained a sense of improved health, well-being, and mental clarity that was almost forgotten.

Blow your socks off with lemons!

45 uses for lemons that will blow your socks off

July 11, 2013 at 11:20 am
Lemon or Lime

by John Summerly – Preventdisease.com

1. Freshen the Fridge

Remove refrigerator odors with ease. Dab lemon juice on a cotton ball or sponge and leave it in the fridge for several hours. Make sure to toss out any malodorous items that might be causing the bad smell.

2. High Blood Pressure

Lemon contains potassium which controls high blood pressure and reduces the effect of nausea and dizziness.

3. Prevent Cauliflower From Turning Brown

Cauliflower tend to turn brown with even the slightest cooking. You can make sure the white vegetables stay white by squeezing a teaspoon of fresh lemon juice on them before heating.

4. Mental Health

Lemon water can also prep up your mood and relieve you from depression and stress. Long distance walkers and world travelers as well as explorers look upon the lemon as a Godsend. When fatigue begins, a lemon is sucked through a hole in the top. Quick acting medicine it is, giving almost unbelievable refreshments.

5. Refresh Cutting Boards

No wonder your kitchen cutting board smells! After all, you use it to chop onions, crush garlic, and prepare fish. To get rid of the smell and help sanitize the cutting board, rub it all over with the cut side of half a lemon or wash it in undiluted juice straight from the bottle.

6. Respiratory Problems

Lemon water can reduce phlegm; and can also help you breathe properly and aids a person suffering with asthma.

7. Treating Arthritis and Rheumatism

Lemon is a diuretic – assists in the production of urine which helps you to reduce inflammation by flushing out toxins and bacteria while also giving you relief from arthritis and rheumatism.

8. Prevents Kidney Stones

Regular consumption of the refreshing drink — or even lemon juice mixed with water — may increase the production of urinary citrate, a chemical in the urine that prevents the formation of crystals that may build up into kidney stones.

9. Keep Insects Out of the Kitchen

You don’t need insecticides or ant traps to ant-proof your kitchen. Just give it the lemon treatment. First squirt some lemon juice on door thresholds and windowsills. Then squeeze lemon juice into any holes or cracks where the ants are getting in. Finally, scatter small slices of lemon peel around the outdoor entrance. The ants will get the message that they aren’t welcome. Lemons are also effective against roaches and fleas: Simply mix the juice of 4 lemons (along with the rinds) with 1/2 gallon (2 liters) water and wash your floors with it; then watch the fleas and roaches flee. They hate the smell.

10. Anti-Aging

Lemon water reduces the production of free radicals which are responsible for aging skin and skin damage. Lemon water is calorie free and an antioxidant.

11. Fruit and Vegetable Wash

You never know what kind of pesticides or dirt may be lurking on the skin of your favorite fruits and vegetables. Slice your lemon and squeeze out one tablespoon of lemon juice into your spray bottle. The lemon juice is a natural disinfectant and will leave your fruits and vegetables smelling nice too.

lemon water12. Treat Infections

Lemon water can fight throat infections thanks to its antibacterial property. If salt water does not work for you, try lime and water for gargling.

13. Deodorize Your Garbage

If your garbage is beginning to smell yucky, here’s an easy way to deodorize it: Save leftover lemon and orange peels and toss them at the base under the bag. To keep it smelling fresh, repeat once every couple of weeks.

14. Keep Guacamole Green

You’ve been making guacamole all day long for the big party, and you don’t want it to turn brown on top before the guests arrive. The solution: Sprinkle a liberal amount of fresh lemon juice over it and it will stay fresh and green. The flavor of the lemon juice is a natural complement to the avocados in the guacamole. Make the fruit salad hours in advance too. Just squeeze some lemon juice onto the apple slices, and they’ll stay snowy white.

15. Purges The Blood

We consume a lot of junk food or food with a lot of preservatives and artificial flavours. This builds up a lot of toxins in the blood and body but daily consumption of lemon water helps to purify the blood.

16. Make Soggy Lettuce Crisp

Don’t toss that soggy lettuce into the garbage. With the help of a little lemon juice you can toss it in a salad instead. Add the juice of half a lemon to a bowl of cold water. Then put the soggy lettuce in it and refrigerate for 1 hour. Make sure to dry the leaves completely before putting them into salads or sandwiches.

17. Oral Health

Lemon juice also stops bleeding gums and reduces toothaches

18. Lighten Age Spots

Why buy expensive creams when you’ve got lemon juice? To lighten liver spots or freckles, try applying lemon juice directly to the area. Let it sit for 15 minutes and then rinse your skin clean. It’s a safe and effective skin-lightening agent.

19. Create Blonde Highlights

For salon-worthy highlights, add 1/4 cup lemon juice to 3/4 cup water and rinse your hair with the mixture. Then, sit in the sun until your hair dries. To maximize the effect, repeat once daily for up to a week.

20. Make a Room Scent/Humidifier

Freshen and moisturize the air in your home on dry winter days. Make your own room scent that also doubles as a humidifier. If you have a wood-burning stove, place an enameled cast-iron pot or bowl on top, fill with water, and add lemon (and/or orange) peels, cinnamon sticks, cloves, and apple skins. No wood-burning stove? Use your stovetop instead and just simmer the water periodically.

21. Clean and Whiten Nails

Pamper your hands without a manicurist. Add the juice of 1/2 lemon to 1 cup warm water and soak your fingertips in the mixture for 5 minutes. After pushing back the cuticles, rub some lemon peel back and forth against the nail.

22. Cleanse Your Face

Zap zits naturally by dabbing lemon juice on blackheads to draw them out during the day. You can also wash your face with lemon juice for a natural cleanse and exfoliation. Your skin should improve after several days of treatment. Lemon water is also a cooling agent, best way to beat the heat.

23. Freshen Your Breath

Make an impromptu mouthwash by rinsing with lemon juice straight from the bottle. Swallow for longer-lasting fresh breath. The citric acid in the juice alters the pH level in your mouth, killing bacteria that causes bad breath. Rinse after a few minutes because long-term exposure to the acid in lemons can harm tooth enamel.

24. Treat Flaky Dandruff

If itchy, scaly dandruff has you scratching your head, relief may be no farther away than your refrigerator. Just massage two tablespoons lemon juice into your scalp and rinse with water. Then stir one teaspoon lemon juice into one cup water and rinse your hair with it. Repeat daily until your dandruff disappears.

25. Get Rid of Tough Stains on Marble

You probably think of marble as stone, but it is really petrified calcium (also known as old seashells). That explains why it is so porous and easily stained and damaged. Those stains can be hard to remove. If washing won’t remove a stubborn stain, try this: Cut a lemon in half, dip the exposed flesh into some table salt, and rub it vigorously on the stain. But do this only as a last resort; acid can damage marble. Rinse well. Use These Lemons To Clean – Easy and Effective

26. Remove Berry Stains

It sure was fun to pick your own berries, but now your fingers are stained with berry juice that won’t come off no matter how much you scrub with soap and water. Try washing your hands with undiluted lemon juice, then wait a few minutes and wash with warm, soapy water. Repeat until your hands are stain-free.

27. Soften Dry, Scaly Elbows

Itchy elbows are bad enough, but they look terrible too. For better looking (and feeling) elbows, mix baking soda and lemon juice to make an abrasive paste, then rub it into your elbows for a soothing, smoothing, and exfoliating treatment. Rinse your extremities in a mixture of equal parts lemon juice and water, then massage with olive oil and dab dry with a soft cloth.

28. Headaches

Lemon juice with a few teaspoons of hot tea added is the treatment of a sophisticated New York bartender, for those who suffer with hangover headaches–and from headaches due to many other causes. He converts his customers to this regime, and weans them away from drug remedies completely.

29. Chills and Fevers

Chills and fevers may be due to a variety of causes; never the less the lemon is always a helpful remedy. Spanish physicians regard it as an infallible friend.

30. Diptheria

Skip the vaccine for this disease. Lemon Juice Treatment still proves as one of the most powerful antiseptics and the strong digestive qualities of the fruit are admired around the world. With the juice every hour or two, and at the same time, 1/2 to 1 tsp. should be swallowed. This cuts loose the false membrane in the throat and permits it to come out.

31. Vaginal Hygiene

Diluted lemon juice makes a safe and sane method of vaginal hygiene. Though it is a powerful antiseptic it is nevertheless free from irritating drugs in douches and suppositories.

32. Forget The Moth Balls

A charming French custom to keep closets free from moths is to take ripe lemons and stick them with cloves all over the skin. The heavily studded lemons slowly dry with their cloves, leaving a marvelous odor throughout the closets and rooms.

33. Stomach Health

Digestive problems are the most common ailments but warm water and lime juice is the solution to most digestive problems. Lemon juice helps to purify the blood, reduces your chances of indigestion, constipation, eliminates toxins from the body, adds digestion and reduces phlegm.

34. Disinfect Cuts and Scrapes

Stop bleeding and disinfect minor cuts and scraps by pouring a few drops of lemon juice directly on the cut. You can also apply the juice with a cotton ball and hold firmly in place for one minute.

35. Soothe Poison Ivy Rash

You won’t need an ocean of calamine lotion the next time poison ivy comes a-creeping. Just apply lemon juice directly to the affected area to soothe itching and alleviate the rash.

36. Remove Warts

You’ve tried countless remedies to banish warts and nothing seems to work. Next time, apply a dab of lemon juice directly to the wart using a cotton swab. Repeat for several days until the acids in the lemon juice dissolve the wart completely.

37. Bleach Delicate Fabrics

Avoid additional bleach stains by swapping ordinary household chlorine bleach with lemon juice, which is milder but no less effective. Soak your delicates in a mixture of lemon juice and baking soda for at least half an hour before washing.

38. Clean Tarnished Brass and Polish Chrome

Say good-bye to tarnish on brass, copper, or stainless steel. Make a paste of lemon juice and salt (or substitute baking soda or cream of tartar for the salt) and coat the affected area. Let it stay on for 5 minutes. Then wash in warm water, rinse, and polish dry. Use the same mixture to clean metal kitchen sinks too. Apply the paste, scrub gently, and rinse. Get rid of mineral deposits and polish chrome faucets and other tarnished chrome. Simply rub lemon rind over the chrome and watch it shine! Rinse well and dry with a soft cloth.

39. Replace Your Dry Cleaner

Ditch the expensive dry-cleaning bills (and harsh chemicals) with this homegrown trick. Simply scrub the stained area on shirts and blouses with equal parts lemon juice and water. Your “pits” will be good as new, and smell nice too.

40. Boost Laundry Detergent

For more powerful cleaning action, pour 1 cup lemon juice into the washer during the wash cycle. The natural bleaching action of the juice will zap stains and remove rust and mineral discolorations from cotton T-shirts and briefs and will leave your clothes smelling fresh. Your clothes will turn out brighter and also come out smelling lemon-fresh.

41. Rid Clothes of Mildew

Have you ever unpacked clothes you stored all winter and discovered some are stained with mildew? To get rid of it, make a paste of lemon juice and salt and rub it on the affected area, then dry the clothes in sunlight. Repeat the process until the stain is gone.

42. Eliminate Fireplace Odor

There’s nothing cozier on a cold winter night than a warm fire burning in the fireplace — unless the fire happens to smell horrible. Next time you have a fire that sends a stench into the room, try throwing a few lemon peels into the flames. Or simply burn some lemon peels along with your firewood as a preventive measure.

43. Neutralize Cat-Box Odor

You don’t have to use an aerosol spray to neutralize foul-smelling cat-box odors or freshen the air in your bathroom. Just cut a couple of lemons in half. Then place them, cut side up, in a dish in the room, and the air will soon smell lemon-fresh.

44. Deodorize a Humidifier

When your humidifier starts to smell funky, deodorize it with ease: Just pour 3 or 4 teaspoons lemon juice into the water. It will not only remove the off odor but will replace it with a lemon-fresh fragrance. Repeat every couple of weeks to keep the odor from returning.

45. Reduce Asthma Symptoms

In addition to a general detoxifying diet, 2 tablespoons of lemon juice before each meal, and before retiring can reduce asthma symptoms.

Hair quality improvers

Four natural remedies that improve

hair quality and growth

HAIR

by Michael Ravensthorpe

(NaturalNews) Virtually all cultures in the world view thick, lustrous hair as a symbol of vitality, youthfulness, and healthfulness. Consequently, hair improvement products in all forms (shampoos, conditioners, hair loss creams, etc.) are international, billion-dollar industries. Some of these products receive good reviews, while others receive bad reviews. Regardless of their efficacy, however, few if any of them could be described as ‘natural.’ Their ingredients list usually reads like a chemistry set, and health-conscious individuals are understandably reluctant to use them. What follows, then, is a list of four natural remedies that are renowned for improving hair quality and growth in both sexes.

Great remedies for improving hair quality

Blackstrap molasses – Blackstrap is a dark, thick syrup that contains all of the trace minerals extracted from the sugar cane plant during the sugar refinement process. As it happens, one of those minerals is copper – an absolutely essential ingredient for healthy hair since it helps the production of the skin and hair pigment melanin. For best results, ingest two tablespoons of blackstrap molasses per day, preferably first thing in the morning. You’ll begin noticing improvements in hair quality within weeks. Consistent monthly use may return your hair to its original color.

Cayenne pepper – Cayenne is a great remedy for improving hair thickness. Indeed, ancient doctors used to treat alopecia using tonics comprised of it. This is because cayenne increases blood flow, which in turn nourishes the scalp and stimulates hair growth. It is a good idea to mix cayenne with an oil such as olive oil, however – pouring raw cayenne powder over your scalp without lubrication is not a pleasant experience!

Coconut milk or oil – These two coconut products have always been linked with non-flaking, shiny, healthy hair. For best results with coconut oil, mix it with a little avocado, spread the mixture on your hair, and then rinse with warm water after 30 minutes. Coconut milk, on the other hand, can be used like a regular shampoo – just massage it into your scalp and leave it there for 30 minutes.

Saw palmetto – There is a good reason why this North American plant is a main ingredient in conventional hair products – it really does boost luster and thickness. Funnily enough, we haven’t yet learned why it is so effective, although several researchers believe it is because the plant blocks an enzyme, 5-alpha-reductase, from converting testosterone into dihydrotesosterone. The latter is a hormone that is linked to progressive alopecia and other hair-related conditions.

The great thing about these four remedies is their versatility. For example, you could take two tablespoons of blackstrap molasses per day whilst washing your hair with coconut milk every other day. Alternatively, you could take a 20 drops of cayenne pepper tincture mixed with water while scrubbing your hair with a homemade blackstrap molasses and saw palmetto shampoo. In fact, you can make a shampoo made from all four remedies mixed together – the concoction may not look or smell nice, but your hair will love it!

Black Seed: the Remedy for Everything But Death

Black Seed: the Remedy for Everything But Death

By Sayer Ji

Contributing Writer for Wake Up World

This humble but immensely powerful seed kills MRSA, heals the chemical weapon poisoned body, stimulates regeneration of the dying beta cells within the diabetic’s pancreas, and yet too few even know it exists.

The seeds of the annual flowering plant, Nigella Sativa, have been prized for their healing properties since time immemorial.  While frequently referred to among English-speaking cultures as Roman coriander, black sesame, black cumin, black caraway and onion seed, it is known today primarily as black seed, which is at the very least an accurate description of its physical appearance.

The earliest record of its cultivation and use come from ancient Egypt. Black seed oil, in fact, was found in Egyptian pharoah Tutankhamun’s tomb, dating back to approximately 3,300 years ago.[i]  In Arabic cultures, black cumin is so known as Habbatul barakah, meaning the “seed of blessing.” It is also believed that the Islamic prophet Mohammed said of it that it is “a remedy for all diseases except death.”

Many of black cumin’s traditionally ascribed health benefits have been thoroughly confirmed in the biomedical literature. In fact, since 1964, there have been 458 published, peer-reviewed studies referencing it.

We have indexed salient research, available to view on GreenMedInfo.com on our Black Seed(Nigella Sativa) page, on well over 40 health conditions that may be benefited from the use of the herb, including over 20 distinct pharmacological actions it expresses, such as:

  • Analgesic (Pain-Killing)
  • Anti-Bacterial
  • Anti-Inflammatory
  • Anti-Ulcer
  • Anti-Cholinergic
  • Anti-Fungal
  • Ant-Hypertensive
  • Antioxidant
  • Antispasmodic
  • Antiviral
  • Bronchodilator
  • Gluconeogenesis Inhibitor (Anti-Diabetic)
  • Hepatoprotective (Liver Protecting)
  • Hypotensive
  • Insulin Sensitizing
  • Interferon Inducer
  • Leukotriene Antagonist
  • Renoprotective (Kidney Protecting)
  • Tumor Necrosis Factor Alpha Inhibitor

These 22 pharmacological actions are only a subset of a far wider number of beneficial properties intrinsic to the black seed. While it is remarkable that this seed has the ability to positively modulate so many different biological pathways, this is actually a rather common occurrence among traditional plant medicines.

Our project has identified over 1600 natural compounds with a wide range of health benefits, and we are only in our first 5 years of casual indexing. There are tens of thousands of other substances that have already been researched, with hundreds of thousands of studies supporting their medicinal value (MEDLINE, whence our study abstracts come, has over 600,000 studies classified as related to Complementary and Alternative Medicine).

Take turmeric, for example. We have identified research indicating its value in over 600 health conditions, while also expressing over 160 different potentially beneficial pharmacological actions. You can view the quick summary of over 1500 studies we have summarized on our Turmeric Researchpage, which includes an explorative video on turmeric. Professional database members are further empowered to manipulate the results according to their search criteria, i.e. pull up and print to PDF the 61 studies on turmeric and breast cancer.  This, of course, should help folks realize how voluminous the supportive literature indicating the medicinal value of natural substances, such as turmeric and black seed, really is.

Black seed has been researched for very specific health conditions. Some of the most compelling applications include:

  • Type 2 Diabetes: Two grams of black seed a day resulted in reduced fasting glucose, decreased insulin resistance, increased beta-cell function, and reduced glycosylated hemoglobin (HbA1c) in human subjects.[ii]
  • Helicobacter Pylori Infection: Black seeds possess clinically useful anti-H. pylori activity, comparable to triple eradication therapy.[iii]
  • Epilepsy: Black seeds were traditionally known to have anticonvulsive properties. A 2007 study with epileptic children, whose condition was refractory to conventional drug treatment, found that a water extract significantly reduced seizure activity.[iv]
  • High Blood pressure: The daily use of 100 and 200 mg of black seed extract, twice daily, for 2 months, was found to have a blood pressure-lowering effect in patients with mild hypertension.[v]
  • Asthma: Thymoquinone, one of the main active constituents within Nigella sativa (black cumin), is superior to the drug fluticasone in an animal model of asthma.[vi] Another study, this time in human subjects, found that boiled water extracts of black seed have relatively potent antiasthmatic effect on asthmatic airways.[vii]
  • Acute tonsillopharyngitis: characterized by tonsil or pharyngeal inflammation (i.e. sore throat), mostly viral in origin, black seed capsules (in combination with Phyllanthus niruri) have been found to significantly alleviate throat pain, and reduce the need for pain-killers, in human subjects.[viii]
  • Chemical Weapons Injury: A randomized, placebo-controlled human study of chemical weapons injured patients found that boiled water extracts of black seed reduced respiratory symptoms, chest wheezing, and pulmonary function test values, as well as reduced the need for drug treatment.[ix]
  • Colon Cancer: Cell studies have found that black seed extract compares favorably to the chemoagent 5-fluoruracil in the suppression of colon cancer growth, but with a far higher safety profile.[x] Animal research has found that black seed oil has significant inhibitory effects against colon cancer in rats, without observable side effects.[xi]
  • MRSA: Black seed has anti-bacterial activity against clinical isolates of methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus.[xii]
  • Opiate Addiction/Withdrawal: A study on 35 opiate addicts found black seed as an effective therapy in long-term treatment of opioid dependence.[xiii]

Sometimes the biblical reference to ‘faith the size of a mustard seed moving mountains’ comes to mind in connection with natural substances like black seeds. After all, do seeds not contain within them the very hope for continuance of the entire species that bore it?  This super-saturated state of the seed, where life condenses itself down into an intensely miniaturized holographic fragment of itself, promising the formation of future worlds within itself, is the very emblem of life’s immense and immortal power.

If we understand the true nature of the seed, how much life (past, present and future) is contained within it, it will not seem so far-fetched that it is capable of conquering antibiotic resistant bacteria, healing the body from chemical weapons poisoning, or stimulate the regeneration of dying insulin-producing beta cells in the diabetic, to name but only a fraction of black seed’s experimentally-confirmed powers.

Moving the mountain of inertia and falsity associated with the conventional concept of disease, is a task well-suited for seeds and not chemicals. The greatest difference, of course, between a seed and a patented synthetic chemical (i.e. pharmaceutical drug), is that Nature (God) made the former, and men with profit-motives and a deranged understanding of the nature of the body made the latter.

The time, no doubt, has come for food, seeds, herbs, plants, sunlight, air, clean water, and yes, love, to assume once again their central place in medicine, which is to say, the art and science of facilitating self-healing within the human body. Failing this, the conventional medical system will crumble under the growing weight of its own corruption, ineptitude, and iatrogenic suffering (and subsequent financial liability) it causes. To the degree that it reforms itself, utilizing non-patented and non-patentable natural compounds with actual healing properties, a brighter future awaits on the horizon. To the degree that it fails, folks will learn to take back control over their health themselves, which is why black seed, and other food-medicines, hold the key to self-empowerment.

The natural approach to colds and ‘flu prevention

Modern-medicine loses the flu-fight to Mother Nature…
Discover why the natural approach to colds and flu prevention is more effective than modern-medicine…

Dear flu-season dreader,
Winter is here and that means the dreaded flu season is too!

Having to live with a sore throat, annoying cough and never-ending runny nose that cause you to make expensive trip after expensive trip to the doctor is exhausting…

So the obvious thing to do is round up your family and go for an annual flu shot, right?

But is that the most effective way to protect you and your family from colds and flu?

Does it really do what doctors claim?

Studies show the flu shot is practically useless

A 2011 study published in the Lancet Journal conducted by the University of Minnesota has revealed that 1.5 of every 100 adults who get the flu shot will avoid getting the flu. That means 98.5 get sick even though they’ve had the vaccine. Proof that the flu shot isn’t nearly as effective as doctors claim it is in preventing colds and flu. In fact, it’s just about useless!

But that’s not all…

In 2009, the Cochrane Collaboration (an independent research organisation) reviewed every flu vaccine study conducted between 1948 and 2007. Their conclusion: “There is no evidence whatsoever that seasonal influenza vaccines have any effect, especially in the elderly and young children”.

And this year, the US Centre for Disease Control found that for people over the age of 65 – the population most at risk of developing serious health complications from flu – the 2013 vaccine failed at preventing illness nine out of ten times…
Flu shots aren’t only useless, they’re dangerous too

But that’s not even the worst of it…

You see, flu shots may contain harmful poisons like these:
1. Thimerosal (a mercury derivative added as a preservative) – mercury is a toxic heavy metal that can lead to severe speech and vision impairment.
2. Formaldehyde (to kill viruses) – a carcinogen that can cause serious respiratory problems such as bronchitis, pneumonia or pulmonary oedema.
3. Aluminum (to promote antibody response) – which is suspected of causing Alzheimer’s amongst other illnesses.
4. Ethylene glycol (also known as antifreeze) – known to cause kidney and liver damage without showing symptoms.
But the flu shot isn’t the only cold and flu modern-medicine that doesn’t do what it’s meant to…

Recent press reports have reported on the dangers of cough syrup for children and have concluded that cough syrup doesn’t work either…

According to reports, no cough remedies have ever been proven to be better than a placebo for adults or children.

Antibiotics are a “wonder drug” in the medical world – no one is disputing that. But, while your doctor will no doubt prescribe them to you for a viral cold or flu in case you develop a bacterial infection… This overuse of antibiotics has resulted in much more resistant bacteria.

According to Dr Richard Rosenfeld of State University of New York Downstate Medical Centre: “The bacteria that do survive the antibiotics get tough and harder to manage”. That means antibiotics will only be able to do so much before they can’t effectively fight bacterial infections anymore…

And if that’s not enough, side effects like nausea, allergic reactions and severe abdominal cramps seem like a big price to pay for a failed attempt at fighting off a viral infection!

Why take harmful flu shots and ineffective modern-medicine when there are all-safe, all-natural ways to protect you and your family from colds and flu this winter?

Why rely on modern-medicine when Mother Nature’s much more effective

The natural approach to protecting you and your family from colds and flu has been overshadowed by the pharmaceutical industry for far too long!

After all, with modern medicine come unwanted side effects that could result in long-term health complications.

The stats don’t lie! Just because you get a flu shot, doesn’t mean you won’t end up getting sick or have to resort to paying a visit to your doctor…

If you’re serious about flu protection, take the more natural approach.

For example, studies show that one vitamin is crucial in preventing colds and flu and can cut your risk of coming down with the flu by 50%!

But, this vitamin isn’t the only natural source of protection you can use to fight colds and flu…
There are:
• Three vegetables that can also help to reinforce your body’s natural defences…
• Spices and herbs sitting in your kitchen cupboard that can protect you from germs…
• As well as an aphrodisiac that can boost your immune system…
• And much more…
And while prevention is better than cure, if you do happen to still get sick… Luckily, Mother Nature’s covered that angle too…
Fight colds and flu the natural way…

Did you know: You can…
• Shorten your flu attack by four days with one fruit extract…
• Ease nasal congestion with two commonly found herbs…
• Kill a wide range of viruses without causing any side-effects with one plant leaf…
• Get much-needed relief from annoying coughs and chest pains with this one flower…
• And much more…
So while doctors and mainstream media push you to get your yearly flu shots year after year, the truth is a man-made lab vaccine can’t protect you from colds and flu as effectively as Mother Nature can…

And that’s why today, I want you to discover all-natural cold and flu prevention secrets as well as natural flu-fighting remedies you can use to protect your family from the flu season this winter.

Introduction

You may think that when it comes to alternative health therapies – you’ve heard it all.

But there is one natural therapy you’ve probably never heard of – even though it’s one of the most powerful, most researched and most medically proven natural cures ever discovered.

No matter how hard it may be for you to stomach, the fact is that knowing the truth about this incredible natural substance will be one of the most crucial health facts you’ll ever learn. And one of the most remarkable things about this incomparable natural therapy is that the medical community has already been aware of its astounding efficacy for decades, and yet none of us has ever been told about it. Why? Maybe they think it’s too controversial. Or maybe, more accurately, there wasn’t any monetary reward for telling people what scientists know about one of the most extraordinary natural healing elements in the

world. But no matter why the medical establishment has chosen to keep his invaluable information a secret, it’s time that every man, woman and child be told about the only health tool in the world that is always available to everyone and never out of reach – physically or financially. So I want you to sit back, open your mind and get ready to hear the incredible medical facts about human urine – the facts that will change your life.

What You Don’t Know Can Hurt You

Every one of us has a right to know that our bodies produce an invaluable source of nourishment and healing that we can utilize to heal ourselves and to maintain our lives and our health in both everyday circumstances and in emergencies and life-threatening situations.

Two news articles from the past that recently came across my desk vividly illustrate the absolutely tragic consequences of the public’s lack of information and our completely unfounded misconceptions regarding our bodies’ own perfect medicine:

Tom Brokaw, NBC Nightly News, October 16, 1992:

“In Egypt, rescue workers found a 37-year-old man alive in earthquake rubble. He survived almost 82 hours by drinking his own urine. His wife, daughter and mother would not and they died.”

Associated Press, July, 1985:

I don’t think there’s any question that these women and the child would not have died had they simply been aware of the truth that not only would their own urine not harm them, but would, in fact, have provided a power-packed combination of liquid nutrients and critical immune factors that would have sustained them in good health until help arrived.

The Medical Proof

For almost the entire course of the 20th century, unknown to the public, doctors and medical researchers have been proving in both laboratory and clinical testing that our own urine is an enormous source of vital nutrients, vitamins, hormones, enzymes and critical antibodies that cannot be duplicated or derived from any other source. They use urine for healing cancer, heart disease, allergies, auto-immune diseases, diabetes, asthma, infertility, infections, wounds and on and on — yet we’re taught that urine is a toxic waste product. This discrepancy between the medical truth and the public information regarding urine is ludicrous and, as the news releases you’ve just read demonstrate, can mean the difference between life and death to you and to your loved ones.

When I contracted a crippling, incurable disease early in life, I used every available conventional medical and alternative healing method over the course of many years without success. When an acquaintance suggested I try “urine therapy” I though she’d lost her mind, but with no options left, I swallowed my prejudice and decided to give it a go. To my own (and everyone else’s) amazement, my healing was so rapid and so profound with urine therapy that no question remained in my mind that someone in the medical community had to know more than they were telling about this incredible body substance. And as a matter of fact, they did know more – a lot more.

After many months of haunting university libraries, scanning countless microfiche files and poring over piles of medical journals, I had amassed a small mountain of astounding research studies, findings and files on the use of urine in medicine and healing, I discovered, among numerous other things, that urine, far from being a toxic body waste, was actually a purified derivative of the blood made by the kidneys which contains, not body wastes, but rather an incredible array of critically important nutrients, enzymes, hormones, natural antibodies and immune defense agents.

At the end of it all, as I sat tiredly in my chair eyeing the stacks of research papers covering my desk, I realized that the medical community had pulled off one of the biggest hoodwinks in history. Take for instance the doctor who reported that “urine acts as an excellent and safe natural vaccine and has been shown to cure a wide variety of disorders including hepatitis, whooping-cough, asthma, hay fever, hives, migraines, intestinal dysfunctions, etc. It is completely safe and causes no side effects.” (J. Plesch, M.D., The Medical Press, 1947); or the oncologist who reported that “a patient with intractable ovarian cancer was treated with Human Urine Derivative and is now completely well and enjoying the rest of her life.” (Dr. M. Soeda, University of Tokyo, 1968). These remarkable findings were published in medical journals – but did you ever hear about them?

And what about the immunologist who, after extensive clinical and laboratory research stated: “It was rapidly appreciated that undiluted urine administered orally was therapeutically effective for Immune Therapy and was initiated when it became obvious that an allergic condition had become uncontrollable.” (Dr. C.W. Wilson, 1983, Law Hospital, Scotland). Or the Harvard medical researchers who discovered that active “antibodies to cholera, typhoid, diphtheria, pneumonia, polio, leptospira and salmonella have been found in the unconcentrated urine of infected individuals.” (Lerner, Remington & Finland, Harvard Medical School, 1962). What abut the Scandinavian researcher who, in 1951, conclusively proved that human urine can completely destroy tuberculosis? It’s a deadly disease, and is now resistant to antibiotics. Isn’t it time someone told us that our own urine is medically proven to be anti-tubercule?

Then there’s the research into wounds and burns using urea (the primary solid component of urine). As only one research study among many reported: “In America, urea has been used for the treatment of various infected wounds and it has been found to be extremely efficient…even the deepest wound can be treated effectively…. Urea treatment has been successful where other treatments have failed. For external staph infections we found urea preferable to any other dressing…there are no contra-indications to its use.” (Dr. L. Muldavis, 1938, Royal Free Hospital, London).

Now these medical reports are only a few of the more than 50 research studies I compiled and published in the book Your Own Perfect Medicine, but they certainly give an indication of the importance of what we’ve never been told about urine by the medical community. As far back as 1954, the Journal of the American Medical Association (July issue) reported that “More scientific papers have probably been published on urine than on any other organic compound.” Another publication revealed that “more than 1,000 technical and scientific papers, related only to low molecular weight substances in urine, appeared in medical and scientific literature in one single year.” All this fuss about a substance that we’re told is nothing more than a body waste?

I think one of the most interesting pieces of information on urine I came across was the fact that the amniotic fluid that surrounds human infants in the womb is primarily urine. Actually, the infant “breathes in” urine-filled amniotic fluid continually, and without this fluid, the lungs don’t develop. Doctors also believe that the softness of baby skin and the ability of in-utero infants to heal quickly without scarring after pre-birth surgery is due to the therapeutic properties of the urine-filled amniotic fluid.

Reports on the extraordinary external benefits of urine abound as well. Medical studies relate remarkable cases of stubborn or “incurable” chronic, severe eczema that miraculously disappear with urine therapy. Because urine is both anti-viral and anti-bacterial, it’s ideal for treating cuts, wounds and abrasions of all kinds. Acne, rashes, athlete’s foot and fungal skin problems respond dramatically to urine soaks and compresses as well. (You’ll find complete instructions for using urine therapy internally and externally in Your Own Perfect Medicine.)

For home use or emergency treatment care for wounds, poisonous bites or stings, and even broken bones, urine is an incomparable, proven natural healing agent that provides instantaneous therapeutic benefits under any circumstances.

For years, people have said to me, “Well, I have heard of people surviving by ingesting their own urine, but I thought it was just a myth.” Myth it isn’t. Medical fact it is. As Dr. John R. Herman remarked in his article which appeared in the New York State Journal of Medicine in June, 1980: “Auto-uropathy (urine therapy) did flourish in many parts of the world and continues to flourish today….there is unknown to most of us, a wide usage of uropathy and a great volume of knowledge available showing the multitudinous advantages of this modality. Actually, the listed constituents of human urine can be carefully checked and no items not found in human diet are found in it. Percentages differ, but urinary constituents are valuable to human metabolism.”

Your Body’s Own Super-Nutrition Therapy

In 1975, one of the founders of Miles Laboratories, Dr. A.H. Free, published his book Urinalysis in Clinical Laboratory Practice, in which he remarked that not only is urine a sterile body compound (purer than distilled water), but that “it is now recognized that urine contains thousands of compounds, and as new, more sensitive analytical tools evolve, it is quite certain that new constituents of urine will be recognized.” Among the urine constituents mentioned in Dr. Free’s revealing treatise is a list of nutrients that will knock your socks off. As Dr. Free comments, the ingredients listed below are only a few critical nutrients found in urine:

  • Alanine, total ….. 38 mg/day
  • Arginine, total ….. 32 mg/day
  • Ascorbic acid ….. 30 mg/day
  • Allantoin ….. 12 mg/day
  • Amino acids, total ….. 2.1 g/day
  • Bicarbonate ….. 140 mg/day
  • Biotin ….. 35 mg/day
  • Calcium ….. 23 mg/day
  • Creatinine ….. 1.4 mg/day
  • Cystine ….. 120 mg/day
  • Dopamine ….. 0.40 mg/day
  • Epinephrine ….. 0.01 mg/day
  • Folic acid ….. 4 mg/day
  • Glucose ….. 100 mg/day
  • Glutamic acid ….. 308 mg/day
  • Glycine ….. 455 mg/day
  • Inositol ….. 14 mg/day
  • Iodine ….. 0.25 mg/day
  • Iron ….. 0.5 mg/day
  • Lysine, total ….. 56 mg/day
  • Magnesium ….. 100 mg/day
  • Manganese ….. 0.5 mg/day
  • Methionine, total ….. 10 mg/day
  • Nitrogen, total ….. 15 g/day
  • Ornithine ….. 10 mg/day
  • Pantothenic acid ….. 3 mg/day
  • Phenylalanine ….. 21 mg/day
  • Phosphorus, organic ….. 9 mg/day
  • Potassium ….. 2.5 mg/day
  • Proteins, total ….. 5 mg/day
  • Riboflavin ….. 0.9 mg/day
  • Tryptophan, total ….. 28 mg/day
  • Tyrosine, total ….. 50 mg/day
  • Urea ….. 24.5 mg/day
  • Vitamin B6 ….. 100 mg/day
  • Vitamin B12 ….. 0.03 mg/day
  • Zinc ….. 1.4 mg/day

As you read over this extraordinary list of nutritional elements, you can begin to understand why the stories you may have heard of people surviving on their own urine are true. But what about other elements in urine that you’ve heard about?

Clearing Up the Misconceptions

If you asked a person on the street what uric acid is, he or she would invariably answer that it’s a toxic body waste. No so, say medical researchers at the University of California at Berkeley who in 1982 reported they had discovered that “uric acid destroys body-damaging, cancer-causing free radicals and is considered to be one of the physiological factors that enable human beings to live so much longer than other mammals.”

But what about urea? Urea is in urine and isn’t that the toxic stuff that causes uremic poisoning? Actually, medical researchers discovered many decades ago that urea, far from being a toxic body waste, is an incredibly versatile, far-reaching and effective medicinal agent. In numerous medical studies, it was shown that urea is one of the most potent non-toxic virucidal agents ever discovered. In one particular study, the rabies and polio virus [sic] were killed so quickly and efficiently by concentrated urea, that even the laconic researchers themselves were surprised: “Urea is such a relatively inactive substance and certainly not a protoplasmic poison such as are most virucidal agents, that it is in a way surprising that rabies and poliomyelitis are killed so easily by urea solutions” (McKay & Schroeder, Society of Experimental Biology, 1936).

In reality, Urea is an FDA-approved medicinal agent that doctors and researchers utilize in an amazing variety of therapeutic modalities. Because of its remarkable and comprehensive anti-neoplastic (anti-tumor) properties, it’s presently being used in anti-cancer drugs and is extensively studied for use in cancer treatments. The urea compound drug, glicazide, is used successfully by the medical establishment in treating both insulin-dependent and non-insulin-dependent diabetics.

As a natural diuretic, urea is unparalleled, and is a proven and accepted treatment in cases of edema or swelling such as excess cerebral and spinal pressure, glaucoma, epilepsy, meningitis, even premenstrual edema and many other disorders in which excess fluid is a problem. As one American neurosurgeon reported regarding a patient who nearly died form complications following brain surgery: “Urea was administered intravenously as an emergency measure. Within 20 minutes from the start of injection, her blood pressure had returned to normal….from this time on her recovery was uneventful. In this case, urea was definitely life-saving, because prior to its administration, the patient’s survival was unlikely. In many similar instances urea was found to be life-saving” (Dr. M. Javid, University of Wisconsin).

The Physiological Answer to a Therapeutic Mystery

The medical findings on urine and urine constituents are overwhelming, and yet it’s difficult for most people to understand why our bodies excrete elements that are so obviously valuable to human health and well-being.

The commonly-asked question, “If your urine is so good for you, why does your body excrete it?” is best answered by looking into how our kidneys function. As your blood moves through the circulatory system, it flows through the kidneys at a rate of about 1200 ml of blood per minute. Inside the kidneys, the blood is continuously filtered through a huge system of minute tubules called nephron which sift out excess water, vitamins, minerals, enzymes, salts, and hundreds of other elements including vital antibodies, urea and uric acid.

A large portion of these key physiological elements are reabsorbed into the bloodstream, but a certain amount of critical blood constituents are pooled by the kidney into a liquid which doctors refer to as a “plasma ultrafiltrate” (we call it urine). Much of this sterile, nutrient filled ultrafiltrate, or urine, is reabsorbed and some remains in the kidney for a period of time and is eventually released into a tube called the urethra which empties the urine into the bladder where it is finally excreted. Now you’re probably wondering why the body excretes valuable nutrients, water, hormones, enzymes, etc. that are critical to body functioning. Doesn’t it make more sense to retain these elements? If urine is a collection of such life-sustaining elements, why does the body get rid of it?

The answer is that the kidneys excrete a portion of urine as a way of removing certain key elements in your blood that are simply not needed at a specific point in time. For instance, you’ve just been out jogging. You come home and have one or two big glasses of water to drink. Now at this point you’ve probably taken in more water than your body actually needs. But not to worry — your kidneys will balance the amount of water delivered into your bloodstream by your copious water drinking and through the urine will excrete whatever amount of water from the blood that isn’t needed at the time.

Now water is certainly a life-sustaining element the body cannot do without. So why is it excreted from the body? The answer is obvious. There are times when there’s too much water in your system and it needs to be excreted.

It’s a physiological fact that in order for us to function normally, the amounts or concentrations of every element in our blood must be carefully and strictly controlled and this is done by the kidneys. Too much water in the blood is fatal. Too much salt in the blood is deadly. As wonderful a nutrient as vitamin C is, too high a concentration of it or any nutrient could kill you. This is why the kidneys excrete valuable elements from the body — too much of any good thing isn’t good for your health.

The same is true of urea. People who have heard of uremic poisoning are surprised when they read the medical research showing urea to be a widely-used, FDA-approved medicine. But just like any other element in the blood, urea only becomes dangerous to the body when the kidneys are damaged or diseased and can’t properly balance the amount of urea (and all other substances) in the bloodstream.

Your kidneys aren’t doing damage to your body by getting rid of particular excess nutrients, they’re just simply excreting the precise amount not presently needed by your body at a given time. And the same goes for practically every nutrient, enzyme, hormone, antibody, etc. that are critical to your survival — the kidneys keep what your body needs at a certain time, and excretes what it isn’t momentarily using into your urine. And as medical scientists and doctors have discovered, these urinary ingredients extracted from the blood can be therapeutic magic bullets.

Urine: A Billion Dollar Industry

Despite what the public has been led to believe about urine, pharmaceutical companies have grossed billions of dollars from the sale of drugs made from urine constituents. Pergonal, a fertility drug made from human urine, earned a reported $855 million in sales in 1992, and sales ($1400 a month per patient) have increased yearly. Urokinase, a urine ingredient, is used in drug form and sold as a “miracle blood clot dissolver” for unblocking coronary arteries. Urea, medically proven to be one of the best moisturizers in the world has been a boon to cosmetic companies who package it in expensive, glamorized creams and lotions. Ever used Murine ear drops? They’re made from carbamide — another name for synthetic urea.

When you look at the real facts, the tragedy of the general disinformation campaign on urine is surpassed only by the irony of our unwitting, and often incredibly expensive purchases of what we all mistakenly but firmly believe to be our bodies’ “useless” and “offensive” waste-product, urine.

New Acceptance for a Misunderstood Therapy

Because of the nearly all-pervasive public misunderstanding about what urine is and how it can be of immense medical benefit to us, the often amazing anecdotal stories of healing and survival via urine have been routinely ignored, ridiculed or have been written off as “old wives’ tales.” But when people learn the real facts, these stories take on a significance that not even doctors are now willing to ignore.

Since the first release of Your Own Perfect Medicine, rather than the doubt and derision I expected to encounter, I was amazed at the tens of thousands of people who have willingly accepted the information in the book. Many people (including doctors) have come forward to tell me about their own experiences or about news stories they’ve read that tell about using urine medicinally and in survival situations:

Dr. David G. Williams, Alternative Newsletter, August, 1994:

“Several months ago I watched the movie Alive. It’s the true story of a South American soccer team whose airplane crashed in snow-capped mountains in the dead of winter. The team was stranded for a couple months and survived only by eating the flesh of those who had died either during the crash or later from injuries. A portion of the movie focused on two individuals whose initial wounds progressed into serious infections.

Knowing no way to treat these two, the survivors could only attempt to comfort them. Eventually the infection led to death. Watching the intense suffering of these people made me wonder if there was more that could have been done to save them. I now feel it’s very possible that these two people, and thousands of others around the world would still be alive if they had been aware of the therapeutic effects of urine.

With urine therapy, you get all the benefits of urea plus the additional antibodies, vitamins, minerals, amino acids, hormones and more.”

Dr. William Hitt, Clinica Hitt, Mexico

January, 1995

“Experience has shown that intramuscular injections of urine are the best methods for handling a myriad of immunological illnesses including psoriasis, basal call carcinoma, asthma and many other disorders.”

Reuter Report

August 14, 1990

“Four Sri Lankan commandos who drifted in a boat more than 1,000 miles to Thailand after they had been ambushed and given up for dead were given a rapturous welcome when they returned home. ‘They managed to survive on the boat by catching turtles and drinking urine,’ a military officer said.”

Kyodo News Service, Tokyo

July 30, 1990

“A male cook was pulled out of the rubble of the Hyatt Hotel early Monday morning, 14 days after a powerful earthquake devastated the northern Philippines, officials said. Dry, with only minor bruises on his body, he told reporters he survived by drinking his own urine.”

At a time when new viruses and bacteria are outwitting even the best efforts of space-age medicine, and increasingly frequent natural disasters put basic necessities out of reach, the facts about the one medical and survival tool that the FDA can’t regulate and that’s always there when you need it most, may well become the greatest survival lesson any of us will ever learn.

Urine Therapy Testimonials

Denise Experiences

Just wanted to say how grateful I am to Martha Christy for writing her book. I was skeptical at first – who wouldn’t be? But I have been suffering from rheumatoid arthritis for 7 years (I’m 34) to the point where I have been nearly disabled at times; hospitalized because of the pain at times; and unable to function as a mother to my newborn 3 years ago.

I started with “MY” own perfect medicine about 16 months ago, and within 3 days… yes THREE DAYS my aches were dramatically decreased, my swollen joints began ‘unswelling’ and over the past 16 months my ‘sed’ rate has dropped from an alarming 90 – 100 to about 27; almost normal!!

Just wanted to let you know that Perfect Medicine is RIGHT ON in my opinion. Now, if we could just get others to understand. No one in my family understands even the concept of it… so needless to say not even my husband knows I’m doing this. They all just think “it’s a miracle” that I’m feeling so much better. Well, it is a miracle. My OWN miracle!

By the way, I have also used the therapy to relieve dry skin patches on my legs and face, and minor acne problems. Have also sprayed it into my hair on nights when my husband works… and left it over night. When I washed in the morning, my hair was soft and shiny, and the dry spots were much smoother. And minor acne all but disappears over night. I swear by this stuff!!!

Sincerely,

Denise

Another’s Experiences

I had previously read John Armstrong’s “Water of Life” and had tried drinking my own urine 20 years ago. Now comes Martha Christy’s excellent review of the scientifically-proven and medically-documented studies showing how drinking one’s own urine can be highly therapeutic, even in the most difficult cases. Urine therapy has historical roots in ancient Egypt, ancient China, ancient India, and even in this century, there have been hundreds of medical studies (even doctors who injected it directly into the blood, apparently because the taste was too objectionable).

The main theory is that it helps build immunity to disease, much like a vaccination. Martha Christy goes into all of this, and focuses on its use as a cosmetic, among other things. She recommends starting off with just a few drops, applied topically to the skin. Urine is helpful for acne, eczema, psoriasis, ringworm, sores, fungal infections, insect bites, snake bites, wounds, burns, and abrasions. It is a rich source of hormones, especially DHEA and melatonin, and of all the sex hormones. It is also a rich source of enzymes, and vitamins and minerals. It contains vitamin C, vitamin B-12, B-6, and other vitamins, and many minerals. It is fresh, raw, and alive, and totally free (to say the least). No wonder the general medical profession doesn’t know more about it – – there’s no money in it for doctors or for pharmaceutical companies (although there are many pharmaceutical preparations, moisturizing lotions, etc, which derive from urine).

Urine is anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, and anti-biotic. It is used in cases of AIDS (only AIDS anti-bodies in urine); cancer; fatigue; anemia; all sorts of kidney diseases, for weight-loss, colds and flu, candida, diabetes, digestive problems, etc, etc, etc. It is medically proven against polio, rabies, and tuberculosis. The list of diseases for which it is effective is very long. The folklore is to drink the middle stream only, fresh and warm, and morning urine is best. The past few years have seen “World Symposiums” on urine-therapy, attended by hundreds of doctors who drink their own urine.

Martha Christy offers sensible advice, and many case studies. She suggests not flushing the kidneys by taking copious amounts of water, which dilutes the healing properties of the urine. Before reading her book, I thought I might drink a little urine. Now, as strange as it seems, I feel that there’s nothing better than urine, and you won’t want to waste another drop of this precious fluid, which is not a waste product, but a by-product of your own blood. Drinking your own urine also makes you question what you put into your body. She refers to Armstrong’s pioneering research, who himself fasted on his own urine (and water) for 45 days, and offers several other cases in which people have fasted for up to 101 days on their own urine. She (and Armstrong) also recommend urine massages, urine packs, urine eye-drops, ear-drops, nose-drops, and foot baths, and even enemas! She points out that it was common in France in an earlier century for the wealthy women to take urine baths.

Always use fresh urine (fresh and warm) if drinking, although urine that has aged for 2-3 days is ok for the skin. Martha Christy also recommends plenty of rest, and urine seems to be a great normalizer. I have found that is helps clear up congestion (gargle with it for a sore throat), makes me feel stronger, and also seems to relax me (perhaps because of its melatonin content). Urine has a smooth, rich flavor, and it is a kind of “structured water” that is healthful to the body.

Martha Christy points out that there has never been a case, ever, where urine-drinking was found to be toxic to the human body, or even with any side effects. Just the opposite. She points out that almost every known pharmaceutical drug has a long list of side-effects. With urine, there are none. In the Bible, Jesus said “Rivers of living water shall flow from your bellies.” (John 7:38) John Armstrong refers to it as “penance,” and he continued to drink his own urine for the rest of his life, and kept in good health. There’s a huge amount of evidence in favor of urine-therapy, and Martha Christy’s book will certainly change your way of thinking. Even if you’re in good health, a dose of your own urine provides energy-promoting nutrients, hormones, enzymes, as well as the natural antibodies that enhance preventive health care.

MMR causes autism, proven in Italian court case

by D Holt

(NaturalNews) For many years the stories from devastated parents have been eerily similar. A young, bright child vaccinated with MMR, has minor side effects such as high temperature and being off food, and then develops the debilitating disability of autism.

Whilst the mainstream medical profession deny the link between autism and the triple shot of measles, mumps and rubella, there have been many who have argued to the contrary. Statistics show the increases in autism correlate alarmingly with the introduction and uptake of the MMR vaccine. And Now in an Italian court, there has been a landmark ruling for a child whose parents claim that his autism was triggered by MMR.

The parents of Valentino Bocca have been awarded 112,000 Euro to be paid by the Italian ministry of health. They are now seeking a further 800,000 Euro in a civil case. The story is a tragic one, Valentino, developing normally, was given the shot at 14 months and started to suffer from diarrhea, lost interest in food and within a few days lost the ability to use his spoon. Worse was soon to come when he began to be restless at night, screaming in pain for hours. It was later found that he was suffering from a painful bowel condition that is common in autistic children. With an adjusted diet of no wheat or milk, he was able to sleep but the autism symptoms continued, and even at the age of nine, he still does not speak.

The case featured three expert witnesses that concurred that “barring preexisting conditions there was a reasonable scientific probability that the MMR jab had triggered Valantino’s condition.” Judge Lucio Ardigo agreed that it was “conclusively established” that Valentino had suffered from an “autistic disorder associated with medium cognitive delay” and his illness, was linked to receiving the shot. The Italian shot has the same ingredients as the one used in the UK and US.

Proof in court of the link between MMR and autism, but will this be denied by the UK and US?

In the US over 5000 families are known to the mainstream media as believing that the MMR shot has triggered autism in their children, and the real figure could be much higher. Court rulings against the MMR include a 90,000 GBP (Great British Pound) payout for brain damage to a boy called Robert Fletcher, and a $1.5 million payout for Hannah Poling who received MMR and six other vaccinations in one day and then developed autism.

It is small comfort to the families of children who have suffered autism as a result of these vaccines, that there may be a flicker of light at the end of the tunnel. However, the common belief amongst the established medical profession is that it is better to vaccinate a child than not. The forceful way in which the government in both the US and Europe have pushed for vaccination with MMR, has left many parents believing they have no choice, despite the shot being voluntary. In the case of Valentino Bocca this pro-vaccine propaganda was detrimental to the government’s case.

With this ruling, there is now a legal precedent in Italy that could cause an opening in the floodgates. Many parents will be looking to obtain their rightful compensation against the governments that have conspired in one of the greatest medical cover-ups of all time. A cover-up that has cost careers, the suffering of children and the lives of their parents.

Thumbs Up for Homeopathy – the gentle way

The Swiss government’s exceedingly positive report on homeopathic medicine

by Dana Ullman

www.naturalnews.com

The government of Switzerland has a long history of neutrality, and therefore, reports from this government on controversial subjects need to be taken more seriously than other reports from countries that are more strongly influenced by present economic and political constituencies. Further, when one considers that two of the top five largest drug companies in the world have their headquarters in Switzerland, one might assume that this country would have a heavy interest in and bias toward conventional medicine, but such assumptions would be wrong.

In late 2011, the Swiss government’s report on homeopathic medicine represents the most comprehensive evaluation of homeopathic medicine ever written by a government and was just published in book form in English (Bornhoft and Matthiessen, 2011). This breakthrough report affirmed that homeopathic treatment is both effective and cost-effective and that homeopathic treatment should be reimbursed by Switzerland’s national health insurance program.

The Swiss government’s inquiry into homeopathy and complementary and alternative (CAM) treatments resulted from the high demand and widespread use of alternatives to conventional medicine in Switzerland, not only from consumers but from physicians as well. Approximately half of the Swiss population have used CAM treatments and value them. Further, about half of Swiss physicians consider CAM treatments to be effective. Perhaps most significantly, 85 percent of the Swiss population wants CAM therapies to be a part of their country’s health insurance program.

It is therefore not surprising that more than 50 percent of the Swiss population surveyed prefer a hospital that provides CAM treatments rather to one that is limited to conventional medical care.

Beginning in 1998, the government of Switzerland decided to broaden its national health insurance to include certain complementary and alternative medicines, including homeopathic medicine, traditional Chinese medicine, herbal medicine, anthroposophic medicine, and neural therapy. This reimbursement was provisional while the Swiss government commissioned an extensive study on these treatments to determine if they were effective and cost-effective. The provisional reimbursement for these alternative treatments ended in 2005, but as a result of this new study, the Swiss government’s health insurance program once again began to reimburse for homeopathy and select alternative treatments. In fact, as a result of a national referendum in which more than two-thirds of voters supported the inclusion of homeopathic and select alternative medicines in Switzerland’s national health care insurance program, the field of complementary and alternative medicine has become a part of this government’s constitution (Dacey, 2009; Rist, Schwabl, 2009).

The Swiss Government’s “Health Technology Assessment”

The Swiss government’s “Health Technology Assessment” on homeopathic medicine is much more comprehensive than any previous governmental report written on this subject to date. This report carefully and comprehensively review the body of evidence from randomized double-blind and placebo controlled clinical trials testing homeopathic medicines, plus they also evaluated the “real world effectiveness” as well as safety and cost-effectiveness. The report also conducted a highly-comprehensive review of the wide body of preclinical research (fundamental physio-chemical research, botanical studies, animal studies, and in vitro studies with human cells).

And still further, this report evaluated systematic reviews and meta-analyses, outcome studies, and epidemiological research. This wide review carefully evaluated the studies conducted, both in terms of quality of design and execution (called “internal validity”) and how appropriate each was for the way that homeopathy is commonly practiced (called “external validity”). The subject of external validity is of special importance because some scientists and physicians conduct research on homeopathy with little or no understanding of this type of medicine (some studies tested a homeopathic medicine that is rarely used for the condition tested, while others utilized medicines not commonly indicated for specific patients).

When such studies inevitably showed that the homeopathic medicine did not “work,” the real and accurate assessment must be that the studies were set up to disprove homeopathy… or simply, the study was an exploratory trial that sought to evaluate the results of a new treatment (exploratory trials of this nature are not meant to prove or disprove the system of homeopathy but only to evaluate that specific treatment for a person with a specific condition).

After assessing pre-clinical basic research and the high quality clinical studies, the Swiss report affirmed that homeopathic high-potencies seem to induce regulatory effects (e.g., balancing or normalizing effects) and specific changes in cells or living organisms. The report also reported that 20 of the 22 systematic reviews of clinical research testing homeopathic medicines detected at least a trend in favor of homeopathy.* (Bornhoft, Wolf, von Ammon, et al, 2006)

The Swiss report found a particularly strong body of evidence to support the homeopathic treatment of upper respiratory tract infections and respiratory allergies. The report cited 29 studies in “Upper Respiratory Tract Infections/AllergicReactions,” of which 24 studies found a positive result in favor of homeopathy. Further, six out of seven controlled studies that compared homeopathic treatment with conventional medical treatment showed that homeopathy to be more effective than conventional medical interventions (the one other trial found homeopathic treatment to be equivalent to conventional medical treatment). All of these results from homeopathic treatment came without the side effects common to conventional drug treatment. In evaluating only the randomized placebo controlled trials, 12 out of 16 studies showed a positive result in favor of homeopathy.

The authors of the Swiss government’s report acknowledge that a part of the overall review of research included one negative review of clinical research in homeopathy (Shang, et al, 2005). However, the authors noted that this review of research has been widely and harshly criticized by both advocates and non-advocates of homeopathy. The Swiss report noted that the Shang team did not even adhere to the QUORUM guidelines which are widely recognized standards for scientific reporting (Linde, Jonas, 2005). The Shang team initially evaluated 110 homeopathic clinical trials and then sought to compare them with a matching 110 conventional medical trials. Shang and his team determined that there were 22 “high quality” homeopathic studies but only nine “high quality” conventional medical studies. Rather than compare these high quality trials (which would have shown a positive result for homeopathy), the Shang team created criteria to ignore a majority of high quality homeopathic studies, thereby trumping up support for their original hypothesis and bias that homeopathic medicines may not be effective (Ludtke, Rutten, 2008).

The Swiss report also notes that David Sackett, M.D., the Canadian physician who is widely considered to be one of the leading pioneers in “evidence based medicine,” has expressed serious concern about those researchers and physicians who consider randomized and double-blind trials as the only means to determine whether a treatment is effective or not. To make this assertion, one would have to acknowledge that virtually all surgical procedures were “unscientific” or “unproven” because so few have undergone randomized double-blind trials.

For a treatment to be determined to be “effective” or “scientifically proven,” a much more comprehensive assessment of what works and doesn’t is required. Ultimately, the Swiss government’s report on homeopathy represents an evaluation of homeopathy that included an assessment of randomized double blind trials as well as other bodies of evidence, all of which together lead the report to determine that homeopathic medicines are indeed effective.

The next article will discuss further evidence provided in this report from the Swiss government on the effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of homeopathic care.
